AMES Inc.,
the leading supplier of conditioned cylinders to the electronic and
specialty gas industry, was founded in 1988 by Donald Murray. Don had
been previously employed at Matheson Gas Products as the Director of
their Research and Development Department. Forecasting the future
needs for a higher purity container for specialty gas applications,
Don developed both a mechanical polishing process as well as an electroless nickel plating process. With these improvements in place,
our customers have been able to, with great confidence, provide their
end users with stable ultra high purity gases and mixtures. Over the
years these processes have been refined and improved to create the
best possible conditioned cylinder in the marketplace.
Don's son Robert learned the business under
his father's expert tutorship and has been operating the company
since his father's retirement in 1998. In September of 2003, Robert
expanded operations to a larger and better equipped facility in
northern New Jersey to meet ever increasing industry needs. With
these improved accommodations, AMES Inc., has increased treatment
capabilities by forty percent, helping our customers to maintain
leadership of their respective industries.
